(Montgomery, AL) – Palomar Insurance Corporation is sad to report the passing of Bill Connell. A longtime employee, he was a central figure in the success and history of Palomar Insurance. Mr. Connell passed away on Monday, February 28th.
A native of Kentucky, Bill joined Palomar Insurance in 2001. He began his insurance career in 1966 as an adjuster and entered the agency business in 1977. As Senior Vice President of Marketing in our Commercial Division, he operated out of Palomar’s Montgomery office.
After graduating from Bellarmine College in Louisville, KY, Bill was a fixture and mainstay in the insurance industry. His contributions to Palomar Insurance are immeasurable, and he will be greatly missed. “He was instrumental in our agency and helped shape Palomar to meet our customers’ needs,” says Lane Milam, Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales.
“We’re sad to say farewell to Bill, and we express our sympathy to his wife Pat, his children, and their families,” said Tony Craft, Chief Executive Officer of Palomar Insurance Corporation. “I will miss him dearly, and he will be missed by all who knew him.”
He leaves behind his wife, Pat, two sons, one daughter, and a host of grandchildren. He was a faithful member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Montgomery.
Visitation will be Thursday, March 3rd, 5:00-7:00 pm and Friday, March 4th, 12:00-1:00 pm at Alabama Heritage Chapel (10505 Atlanta Highway, Montgomery, AL 36117).
Funeral services will be Friday, March 4th at 1:00 pm at Alabama Heritage Chapel, with a graveside service immediately following.
